More than 20 billion rubles invested in the bataysk helicopter cluster

The memorandum about the implementation of a relevant investment project was signed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) of the RF, the Government of the Rostov Region and Rostec Corporation during “Hydroaviasalon-2014”, according to RIA Novosti.

The cluster will be built in the area of Bataysk airfield. As Denis Manturov, Head of the MIT of RF, informed, it will include the flight test complex, the assembly factory for Mi-28, Mi-35 and Mi-26 helicopters as well as the advanced medium helicopter, manufacture of composite blades, the support center for helicopter operation and the branch of the helicopter academy.

“Thus, the cluster will be the largest center for the most advanced helicopter-building technologies and staff training”, said Mr. Manturov. For his part, Governor of the Rostov Region Vasiliy Golubev informed that initial investments to the cluster will be about 20 billion rubles. As expected, more than 10 thousand people will be employed by the new factory and auxiliary companies will provide another 10 thousand workplaces. The existing plant “Rosvertol” (the part of the corporation “Russian Helicopters”) located in Rostov-on-Don will become the principal industrial part and the talent pool source. At this, the safe conditions for testing the helicopter equipment will be created, so flights will be performed outside the city.
